Top 10 recipes of 2022!

Another year down with plenty of dessert to look back on! I spent 2022 settling into a new city (Bangalore), travelling and being generally grateful for the higher sense of normalcy after the last two years. At the end of every year, I like to look at my stats and see which recipes were the most popular. I always hope to see new ones and I’m happy to report this time there’s a good mix of some old favourites and some surprises. I’d love to know what your most-loved recipe is and whether it’s on this list or not. Thank you for being here, for making the recipes on my blog and all your encouragement, always! Wishing you all a lovely new year!

Here are the top 10 recipes for 2022 🙂

Fudgy Eggless Brownies

As much as I love this recipe, I would like to see it bumped off the top spot just for some variety but I can see why it continues to hog the limelight! Crinkly tops, fudgy and gooey centers and super rich, all without eggs. I gave it a couple of new photos this year as well with very minor tweaks to the recipe. If you haven’t tried it yet, I hope you do and love it as much as everyone else has!

Mini Basque Cheesecake

A close second just like last year, these little cheesecakes are super fun to make and even more delicious to eat. The Basque cheesecake signature is a burnt, caramelised top that is perfect with the creamy center and this is one time when cheesecake is absolutely no-fuss, no-stress!

Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a reminder to myself to make these cookies more often! Chewy and buttery, they have crisp edges just the way I like my cookies and they’re super easy to make!

Baked Mango Cheesecake

This year I updated this recipe with fresh photos and some modifications and it continues to be the absolute epitome of an Indian summer for me. I recommend Alphonso mangoes here for the most beautiful colour and flavour. The cheesecake is creamy but refreshing and always always top with more mango!

Almond & Pistachio Cake

Moist and nutty, this cake has been a part of the top 10 for years now, with good reason. Without a frosting or any kind of topping, it still holds its own and doesn’t even need an addition. I love it with hot tea or coffee!

Chocolate Beetroot Cake

A new one, yay! Always good have a recipe make its debut here and I couldn’t be happier about this chocolate beetroot cake which is so wonderfully gooey and fudgy, and no, doesn’t taste like veggies. Beetroot adds tons of moisture and a simple ganache frosting makes it all very celebratory!

Chocolate Coffee Cake

Another new one on this list, though not new to the blog. This cake has been on here for a while but in 2022 I realised it desperately needed an upgrade and finally got to it. There’s coffee in both the batter and the ganache which makes it the mocha cake of my dreams!

Eggless Baked Cheesecake

A small-batch, creamy cheesecake that’s baked in a loaf tin for six perfect little slices! It’s so similar to a classic cheesecake even without the eggs and couldn’t be easier to make. Try it soon!

Caramelised Onion Cheddar Rolls

I love it when a savoury recipe is part of this list and after an update this year, I understand why these onion cheddar rolls are here. The dough is made without eggs, flavoured with olive oil and herbs and is super easy to make. I love these rolls with soup for dinner or with eggs for breakfast!

Gooey Butter Cake

I made this cake at the beginning of the year for the first time and it’s great to see it here. This is a St Louis style butter cake with a yeasted base and gooey, crackly topping of butter and sugar. It’s surprisingly not over-sweet and is best eaten freshly baked!
