It’s the end of yet another year and as always, I find myself wondering how it went by so fast. 2021 was a tough year for many, many people all around the world, just like 2020 was. And yet again, through more lockdowns and cabin fever, many of us reached for new hobbies as a source of comfort, baking being one of the most widely shared ones! I do these recipe round-ups every year and love seeing which ones are consistent favourites and which surprised me by making the list in a short amount of time. Thank you for being here, thank you for all of the love and support and for helping me and my blog grow and become a huge source of joy through a complicated time in our world. It always pushes me to make the next year even better! And I hope collectively, we can look towards a happier 2022, fingers and toes crossed.
So excited to share your most loved recipes on The Desserted Girl in 2021 ! Let’s do this 🙂

Fudgy Eggless Brownies
Posted just a couple of months before the end of last year, these shot to the top of the list this year! Every single happy review of this recipe makes my day, I kid you not. I love seeing your photos and messages about how these eggless brownies nailed the brief! They’re fudgy, have the perfect crinkly crust and are so decadent!
Mini Basque Cheesecake
This was recipe number one last year! Creamy and fun-sized, these Basque cheesecakes could not be easier to make and have been perfect at a time where we were all making smaller portions of desserts. That burnt top and the soft centers are the most delicious contrast!
Baked Mango Cheesecake
Yet another consistent favourite, this super summery, creamy yet light mango cheesecake is a dessert I personally love love love! Bursting with Alphonso mangoes and a biscuit crust to complement that soft filling, this is sooo dreamy. Make it next summer if you haven’t already! And earlier this year, I made an eggless version of it!
Eggless Baked Cheesecake
This is the recipe that proved me wrong about making cheesecakes without eggs, because it’s absolutely possible and the results are delicious! It has the same texture and is super easy to make. This one is baked in a loaf-tin for a smaller portion and many of you have made and loved it, yay!
Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies
Crispy edges and chewy, buttery centers, plus lots of chocolate chips make this a great eggless cookie recipe. The flavours and textures are like a classic chocolate chip cookie, which makes them a winner!
Mini Peach Cobbler
I didn’t think these little cobblers would be so popular! Readers have tried them with other fruits like apples and you can basically use whatever is in season. The tops are biscuity and flaky and buttery, and just begging for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yummmm!
Homemade Bread Rolls
Another regular on this list, these soft, eggless rolls are easy and very satisfying to make if you enjoy baking bread. They’re fluffy and perfect, going great with pretty much any kind of meal, or just cut one open, slather with butter and enjoy!
Homemade Donuts
A recipe I adore, these old-school fried yeasted donuts can be glazed with a simpler sugar icing, or rolled in cinnamon sugar and I promise they’re better than anything you’ll eat outside! Keep a pot of coffee ready 🙂
Dense Chocolate Loaf
This recipe got an upgrade at the end of last year and I’m very happy to see it on the list! This is the perfect chocolate cake, rich enough to use as a base for a celebratory layer cake, but still classic enough to make any day of the week. It’s moist, not overly sweet and sooo chocolatey.
Almond and Pistachio Cake
Another favourite for years now, this moist and nutty loaf is packed with almonds and pistachios and is the most amazing tea cake. It’s so fragrant and delicious, I hope you’ll try it if you haven’t already!
And that’s a wrap! Have a safe and happy end of year, and I’ll see you next week!
