I feel like I blinked and 2019 was over, or do all of us feel that way at the end of every year? This was a year of big change for me, focussing personal and professional energies on the blog entirely and learning so much along the way. There have been very good days and very discouraging days, but hey, we’re all here for cake and I’m happy to say, I’m still ready to bake (and eat) some more. So, like last year, I took a look at the ten most popular posts on this blog (decided to keep it to the dessert posts only) and I’d love to know if there’s something outside of this list that you made and enjoyed!
As always, thank you for reading, for following along, for cheering me on and for baking and sharing your creations from this blog. It means the world to me <3
In reverse order, here are my 2019 Top 10!
This multi-layered cake is made with honey biscuits sandwiched with a sour cream and condensed milk filling. It tastes like ginger and caramel and graham crackers all at once! Worth all the effort because it’s just so delicious!
Moist, rich, dark chocolate cake filled and covered with a creamy chocolate pudding! And cake crumbs to finish it off! It’s decadent and intense and just so addictive!
These chewy quinoa peanut butter bars with chia and flax seed have been surprisingly popular! And one of the healthier recipes to make it to this list. They are vegan and gluten-free and very very delicious!
Soft, fluffy bread rolls made without eggs which is why I think they’re so popular! They’re really easy to make and full of buttery, delicious flavour. So good dunked into soup!
6. Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies
Crispy-edged, chewy chocolate chip cookies that are made without eggs and as good as the regular version! Took me a few tries to get these right and they’re just perfect now!
5. Eggless Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
This has always always been one of the most loved recipes here! Moist, fluffy banana bread with tons of chocolate chips and no eggs. It’s super easy and absolutely fail-proof!
These soft and fluffy banana pancakes made with oat flour are a favourite in my home! Weekend breakfasts often include these and they can be refrigerated for great weekday breakfasts too 🙂
This rich, smooth, creamy baked cheesecake with fresh mango puree is a summer must-have! I’m so glad so many of you have made and loved it. It’s packed with Alphonso mangoes and just the most perfect chilled summer dessert.
I updated this recipe in 2019 with new photos as well, and while it’s always been in the top 3, I’m most thrilled about it this year! They are eggless, yeasted fried donuts either glazed or coated in cinnamon sugar! And they are AMAZING.
This amazing loaf cake got bumped to the top spot this year! With orange juice and ground almonds and pistachios, it’s fragrant and flavourful and really really good. Please try it if you haven’t already!
And that’s a wrap! Thank you again for being here. I hope you guys have a lovely start to a lovely new year!
